Lo SKANDA PURANA è l’opera in cui la divinità a sei facce (Skanda) racconta gli eventi accaduti durante il Tatpurusha Kalpa. È il più lungo tra i Purana è composto da 81100 versi divisi in numerosi Kanda e sotto-Kanda. Contiene la storia di Agastya in stile shivaita. Al saggio si attribuisce la propagazione dell’induismo nel sud dell’India.
